There are 270,000 Wind turbines and more than 800,000 blades all over the world. To optimize the average shelf life of 20-years of these turbines, every blade of the wind turbine needs to be inspected per year. Yearly inspection is also helpful in maintaining the efficiency of the wind turbine.

Drone inspection provides a safer, faster, less expensive and more accurate data than the traditional methods used by the industries for wind turbine inspection.
The report concludes that the emerging wind turbine UAV market is driven by the massive number of blades that need to be inspected every year, cost effective and safer process than the traditional method of wind turbine inspection.
